Attempting to Achieve

Last summer, I went to the Crystal Cathedral in Anaheim, California. In one of the buildings, a giant steel quote sat on a white all that asked, "What dreams would you dream if you knew you could not fail?"
What would you attempt to achieve if you knew you could not fail?

If I knew I could not fail I wouldn't get hurt. Therefore, I would still be dancing and playing soccer. All the time. If I couldn't fail I would stop pollution and help people who needed it because I would know it could work. And in a perfect world I would do these things despite being able to fail but just having that looming over you is enough to not want to try at all. I would attempt anything that came to mind because I could.

If I knew that I couldn't fail, I would try to achieve everything. I think that people are afraid of failing, and that fear hold them back from persuing their dreams. But if people knew they couldn't fail at all they would do everything that they felt like doing and not hold back at all. I think that once I found out that I could not fail at anything I tried to achieve I would definitly do things for my own benefit, but I would also want to do things to help other people. If I knew I couldn't fail I would join a charity movement or something that I felt strongly about and hopefully I would be able to help it to succeed.

I've heard that quote so many times, that I really I don’t have an answer to it anymore. I guess if I knew that I could not fail I would want to start a billion dollar business. I still have plans to do that but in 10 years we shall see. I would also agree with Nicole and would try anything that came to mind. I would live life at the edge and never really be afraid of what other people thought. I guess my ultimate goal in the end would have to have a house in the Caribbean with a really nice airplane or car and know that I changed someone else’s life.

If you knew you could not fail I think that at first you would try everything. If nothing could hold you back, why not try anything? I would probably try to run a marathon or become a CEO, or anything else that I desired. I think that after a while though, people might become greedy and no longer do things for their own satisfaction but for their own personal gain. Also, I think part of the thing that drives people to try and achieve things is the possibility of failure. If you know that everything you do will be successful, then what motivation would there be for hard work or effort? I think the attitude that you cannot fail is awesome and provides an excellent source of motivation, but I think that if everyone KNEW they couldn't then they would take that fact for granted.

I would probablly try to become a director or really good pianist. However, how could you achieve above everyone else, if every one else could never fail? Failing is what keeps us stronger. I think that by accepting failure, you can achieve that sense of confidence that you will never fail, and can achieve anything you set out and put your hard work to.

if i knew that i would never fail then i would never stop trying. I guess if I were to attempt something it would be to become a doctor. I hate math and science, but if i knew that I would never fail a test or quiz and i would understand everything thing i would like to help people.

I would attempt to become a professional punter and place kicker for the National Football League. This is the greatest job on the face of the planet because it pays well for the small amount of work and pressure, and I would have the opportunity to be a part of a proffesional football team. This job would allow me family time, and possibly give me the glory of winning a Super Bowl. The reality is that people do fail in life. If everyone achieved everything they could ever dream of, no one would do the jobs that make civilized life possible. No one dreams of becomimg a trash collector or a orange picker, but it's the way the world is. I dream of becoming as successful as, or more successful than my parents because that is what I will hope, dream for, and expect from my children some day.

If I could dream and achieve something that I knew I could not fail reagardless then would try to be better in school and my life as a whole. I would go out and try new things, I would make more friends, I would better my relationship with my parents, and just strive to make my life what I want it to be.

I would attempt to achieve it 100% if I knew I would never fail because just knowing that I wouldn't makes me more motivated.

If I knew I could not fail, my dreams would have no boundaries, I would to whatever made me happy. To me, playing soccer professionaly would be the best thing I could fatham, it wouldnt be in the United States, it would be in Europe were people actually care about soccer. I could achieve wealth, fans, but most importantly, I would be happy. Dreams such as this are extremely important because they are attainable, you just have to work hard and run that extra mile to achieve your dream.

This post really made me think. I've never considered a profession without thinking "What if I just don't have what it takes". I would probably be a big wave surfer in Hawaii. I've seen documentaries about it and the men who do it. The ocean brings out a very spiritual side in them that nothing else has. It is one of the few sports that is so dependent on nature.

Without the doubt of failure I would achieve everything. I would fix the world's problems. I would start a business. I would start a band. In a perfect world I could start any endeavor I wished. The truth of the matter is that in the world there is failure. Without the risk of failure there would be no feelings of achievement over odds through hard work. It is interesting because I want to do the same things as I listed above in my lifetime.

If I knew I wouldn't fail I would aslo do everything and anything that came to mind. I would especially find a cure for AIDS. This is because when I, or most people think of Africa, they think AIDS. Even in other parts of the world AIDS is a big thing. So I would come up with a cure for that. I would also do a lot of things for my life, and for my own benefit. But if I knew that someone or something was in critical needs of help or something, then I would definately help. I would do anything that came to mind if I knew I wouldn't fail.

failing is a very big part of life because the only was to really learn is to make mistakes and failing. people are not succeful all the time. people fail everyday. If i couldn't fail then i would try my best at everything but then i would not know how to become more of what i already am. Life is full of suprises that you might over come but may fail many times.

If I knew I couldn’t fail I would do so much. I would become the most famous piano player in the world; I would solve world hunger and minister and preach to every single person on this planet. If I knew I wouldn’t fail I would fix this world and make it pure, I would fix the people in it and show them truth. I know people will probably tell me that I can’t interfere into other peoples lives but I believe that some people are missing the picture and the importance of their lives on this earth, all I would simply do is reveal to them why they are important and why the shouldn’t do the things that tear them apart.

Well if you i knew i couldnt fail would it really be a dream? Because to me a dream is something that i want to aspire towards and if i knew it was just going to be handed to me i really would not want to do it. That also could just be me speaking, because i really don't like things that come easy in life because if there never is a challange then where is all the fun. In a since what that is saying as well is that we will all be happy because we would get what we wanted. I just don't think the world could function if everyone got what they wanted.

I don't think there is currently a lot that I don't "dream" I could do. There is no fear in dreaming, there is only fear in attempting. If I knew that I wouldn't fail at any of my attempts, and that they would no longer be attempts, but rather activities I guess, I would drop most of my hesitation. Of course not all, because you still have to wonder if IT is the right thing to do, but most hesitation could be eliminated. If I knew I would not fail, there is so much that I would do, my entire life would take a 180.
On the other hand of all of this, if we eliminate failure, we eliminate dreams altogether, and life revolves around dreams.

Failure has nothing to do with what I strive for. I have experienced failure enough that I have no fear of it. Just because I have failed at things doesn’t, in my eyes, make me a failure because I continue to strive for success. If I knew I could not fail it would not change the way I approach the world or what I would attempt one iota. If I knew I could not fail I would probably be a person with less character, weaker values, and I would be less satisfied with who I am. To me, failure helps teach you who you are on the inside and teaches you what you stand for. If I knew I could not fail then what satisfaction would I have when I achieve something I tried? To me this answer is very little and although I could guarantee to make the world a better place I think I’ll just try to anyways and if I don’t succeed then I will just try to do the same but in a different way.

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
-Michael Jordan
I think Jordan says it best here, that without failure, there is no success. Failure defines us, failure builds character, and failure enlightens us to who we are. I carry elements of human nature, therefore I'm afraid of failure, but so is EVERYONE. In the perfect world where I could not fail, I would challenge Tiger Woods mano y mano and obviously win.

If I knew I couldn't fail I would get rid of my major injuries. My major injuries hold me back tremendously and I don't get as much achieved with all the injuries. I would also produce a major film. I have always wanted to make a major film that opens peoples eyes. I would attempt to end poverty around the world. It would help the world tremedously because there would be more people to contribute to the world. They can offer many positives that are missing today. I think if people know they are going to fail they won't try as hard to achieve great things.
